About the Author
Linda Henderson was born in the little town of Deer Lake in the beautiful province of Newfoundland, Canada. At a young age, her family moved to Ontario.
Being raised in Toronto, Ontario, she always stayed in touch with her roots. The unconditional love received from her parents shaped Linda into a caring, thoughtful, and empathetic woman. These qualities allowed her to value solid relationships and treasure the importance of family. Ultimately Linda devoted herself to a fulfilling lifetime career as a nurse to help others.
The death of a child is an unimaginable loss no parent expects to deal with. It became a harsh reality for Linda when her daughter's unexpected and tragic death shattered her ordinary world. After surviving nearly a decade of pain, devastation, and lifelong change, she used her journals and experience of profound despair to gain inspiration to write her memoir. Determined to understand suffering, she received certificates in Professional Grief and Development, Coping with Child Loss and Grief, and Grief and Bereavement Counselling to give hope to other bereaved parents.
The writing of this memoir about this unspeakable loss has been therapeutic, providing a newfound purpose. With the many lessons learned and perseverance, Linda rediscovered her foundation for life, the roots of love. By embracing her strength, she continues to create a better life for herself and her family.
Her journey has shaped her into a person passionate about life. She enjoys gardening, connecting to nature, and living with her family and two lively puppies in Trenton, Ontario.
